THE HOUSE OF REIGI
Independent watchmaker from Finland
founders
Reigi was founded in 2023 by Juho "Julli" Huikkonen and Madleena Konttinen.
Julli is a graduate of the Finnish School of Watchmaking. He is responsible for the vision behind Reigi — designing the watches, developing the concepts, and crafting them.
Madleena handles the operational side — scheduling, logistics, and the everyday tasks that keep the house running. Without it, none of the rest would be possible.

reigi
Reigi is a Japanese word for etiquette in martial arts — the conduct of the dojo. The name reflects two values rooted in Bushidō: Rei and Gi.
REI
Rei means respect.
Not politeness or ceremony, but the recognition of dignity in others and responsibility in oneself.
GI
Gi is integrity.
It is the inner standard that guides action when pressure is present and shortcuts are available.
sisu
Julli has a background in martial arts, where progress is slow and difficulty is part of the path. Watchmaking is the only craft he has encountered that proved just as demanding.
In both, the learning curve is steep. There are no shortcuts, and you cannot pretend to be better than you are. The work demands patience, discipline, and the humility to keep learning.
In Finland, the strength to endure that difficulty has a name: sisu.
The Work
Our atelier is in Central Finland, in the city of Jyväskylä. This is where each watch is designed, built, and finished — under the same roof, by the same hands.
We make most of what goes into our watches ourselves. It is the only way to maintain the standard we hold ourselves to.
That standard shows in the details. The Rippling finish, found in the movement of The Octagon, exists nowhere else in watchmaking. The silver mesh dial — woven by hand from 0.4 mm wire — has never been done before.

our why
We know that reaching a point where you can own one of our watches has almost certainly not been easy.
That is why we make them.
To remind you of what you have achieved, what you have endured, and what it took to get here — and on the days you doubt yourself, it carries those moments with it. And reminds you of who you are.
And when the time comes, it carries your memory for those closest to you, when they need it the most.
A bow to you.
